This FAQ as well as mIRC is still a work in progress! Most subjects in this file were prompted by questions in the Usenet newsgroups and. in particular, the popup menus and the scripting section are really great! I love mIRC for its small size, speed and useful tools. I'm not the author of mIRC but I've spent quite some time beta testing it. With the FAQ I hope to help you to get all possible basic problems solved, and to give you lots of good ideas about mIRC's scripting capabilities. Not all functions and features of mIRC are explained in the FAQ it merely serves as a good starting point. (Eventually read the IRC Intro included in mIRC). This FAQ will only answer simple questions on IRC itself since lots of info is already available on that. Now we are going to click on the "Ignore" in the sub-category that just opened up and click on the "\/" to the right of "Method:".This FAQ attempts to answer the most frequently asked questions about mIRC.Now click on the "+" sign next to "DCC" to open up the sub menu. Enabling auto-get does not mean viruses will takeover your computer, just don't be an idiot and open files sent to you that you didn't request. If your confronted with the "Auto-Get Warning", click yes and enable the feature.Also for "On chat request:", select "Auto-accept" and check "minimize" And click on the "\/" to the right of "If file exists:" and select "Resume". In the "Category:" window under "Connect", click on "Options", and put a check mark next to "Reconnect on disconnection".When mIRC is opened, the options menu should pop up:.This is is a mini-guide for beginners to set up an IRC client to receive files.
